〜さえ〜ば (sae ~ ba)

JLPT N3
How to say “as long as (just) ~, then …” — one condition is all you need.
Meaning
“If only ~ / as long as ~.” Highlights the single condition that's enough for the result.
Formation
Noun + さえ + [verb ば-form]
Verb (ます-stem) + さえすれば
い-adj: 〜く + さえあれば; な-adj: 〜で + さえあれば

How it works
さえ picks out the one crucial condition and ば/なら gives the result — “nothing else matters, just this.” It shows a single requirement is sufficient.
Compared with similar expressions
〜さえ〜ば — if only / as long as (one sufficient condition).
〜ば — if (a condition, no “only” nuance).
〜たら — if / when (specific situation).
Common mistakes
Verb: ます-stem + さえすれば: 押す → 押しさえすれば
Don't drop the ば/なら half — さえ alone isn't the full pattern.
