〜わけだ (wake da)

JLPT N3
The satisfying “ah, that explains it” — linking a reason to something you already noticed.
Meaning
“No wonder ~ / that's why ~.” You've just learned a reason, and it explains a result you already observed.

How it works
わけだ presents a logical conclusion that now makes sense given new information. It often pairs with 道理で or だから. Don't confuse it with わけではない (“it's not that ~”).
Compared with similar expressions
〜わけだ — a conclusion that now makes sense. “No wonder.”
〜はず — an expectation before confirming. “Should be.”
〜から / ので — states a reason directly. “Because.”
Common mistakes
な-adj / Noun: 上手 → 上手なわけだ, 学生 → 学生というわけだ
Different from 〜わけがない (“no way”) and 〜わけではない (“not that ~”).
Related grammar
〜はず — should
〜から — because
〜ので — because (softer)
